Asia 2016 - Day 1 - A journey around the globe
Flight
We started our journey at the airport in Luxembourg whose duty-free shops have been reorganized in one single fancy shopping area which you have to pass through on your way to the departure gates and waiting area.
After an uneventful 50 minutes of flight we arrived in Munich. Apart from a couple of armed police-men it was business as usual except that we left late.
You gotta love those new Airbus planes and their in-flight entertainment systems:
Big touchscreens, usb ports to charge your phones and German Telekom cellular network for internet access.

Usually the Chinese menu is the recommended choice

but nothing beats breakfast eggs

Arrival in Beijing
We safely arrived at the Beijing Capital International Airport and took a taxi to the Beijing Nan train station. Fun fact; Beijing means Northern Jing, and Nan means south. I let you guess where the Nanjing Bei train station is ;)
I fell asleep on the taxi ride and missed to take pictures of the exceptionally blue sky above Beijing.
We boarded our train the last minute and about 45 minutes later we got off at the Dezhou East train station.

My wife's mom picked us up with a friend of the family. His friends call him Monkey King (after the rebelling character from the famous book Journey to the West).
Another hour or so and we finally arrived at our destination, Yucheng, a small town (only about half a million inhabitants) at the inlaw's house.
Later we went out and had a really nice dinner on the typical Chinese round dining table:
